Shine Arizona is a program that supports healthy living for APIPA members and the community. Our educational programs and events are focused on teaching the community how to make healthy choices in their every day lives. People of all ages need to eat healthy foods, exercise and visit their doctor for check ups. It's about taking critical health education and services to the community – directly to our members. Shine Arizona is brought to you by Arizona Physicians IPA (APIPA), a local health plan serving the AHCCCS population 25 years.
A Shine event is how APIPA brings healthy living and prevention to the community. The Shine bus will tour all around the state for more than 200 events this year. Many of the places it will stop include federally qualified health centers, community centers, DES offices and schools. Some of the no cost health services provided by Shine at different events are blood pressure checks, dental screenings for kids and adults, mammograms, cervical cancer screenings and well child check-ups. In March, 2009, the community outreach team at Arizona Physicians IPA, dubbed Shine Arizona, reached a milestone by taking part in a community driven event for the 200th time in less than two years. Here are some other amazing Shine Stats:
