Healthy First Steps™ Pregnancy Program

Arizona Physicians IPA, Inc. wants you to have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.

We want you and your baby to get all the care you both need. That’s why we have Healthy First Steps, a special program for you—and your baby.

And, because it’s so important to see your doctor when you are pregnant, we have special gifts for you and your baby.

Healthy First Steps Services

Our Healthy First Steps staff of nurses, social workers and health educators will work with you and your doctor to make your pregnancy healthier and easier. They can:

  • Help you find a doctor for yourself and your baby
  • Help you find a doctor for yourself and your baby
  • Help you make prenatal appointments
  • Arrange for home health care if your doctor requests it
  • Help you set up doctor visits after your baby is born
  • Arrange transportation to help you keep appointments
  • Order any special supplies that your doctor requests for you and your baby
  • Stay in touch with you and your doctor in case you have any health care problems
  • With Healthy First Steps, you will learn what to expect

Dental Check Schedule

Keep your child’s smile bright and healthy!

All children starting at age 2 through 21 should have a dental visit every six months. Dental checkups are offered at no costs to you if you visit an APIPA dentist. Here are some tips on how your kids should brush their teeth and keep them healthy.

  • Place the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to the gums.
  • Move the brush back and forth gently in short strokes.
  • Brush the outer surfaces, the inside surfaces and the chewing surfaces of all teeth.
  • To clean the inside surface of the front teeth, tilt the brush vertically and make several up-and-down strokes.
  • Brush your tongue to remove bacteria and keep your breath fresh.
